Meleagris or turkey is a favorite food at least once a year. Many people like them as pets. And the whole world knows how much a turkey deserves to be on any list of the dumbest birds. They have wide-set eyes and an almost awkward, dull gait. Benjamin Franklin called them “birds of courage.” Animal Planet claims they are “confused,” while the Washington Post claims that these animals are simply misunderstood.
Owners who love this bird said that their turkeys prefer to drink only water that drips upwards. This phenomenon is the result of the bird absorbing rain falling from the sky. But they don’t drink. They just tend to stare up at the sky for up to 30 minutes at a time. When it rains, the birds seem to be mesmerized by the idea of dampness coming out of nowhere. So they watch with open mouths in awe. They often do this until they drown.
