Yeast infections are quite common skin condition in dogs. They are usually not something to worry about, but you should seek veterinary attention to resolve this condition as soon as possible. There are a few home remedy options for dog yeast infection that have been shown to be effective.

3 Home Remedy Treatments For Dog Yeast Infection
1. Bathe
Giving your dog a good bath with a quality shampoo is the best thing you can do to fight a fungal infection. Be sure to wear rubber gloves when bathing your dog to make sure the yeast doesn’t get on your skin.
Avoid oatmeal shampoos when dealing with yeast infections.
Oatmeal will actually feed the yeast. While medicated shampoos are very effective, many contain oatmeal. Instead, use an anti-fungal shampoo or an herbal shampoo with ingredients that have natural anti-fungal properties (such as: tea tree oil). Make sure to work the shampoo into the affected area and leave it on for at least 10 minutes before rinsing it out.
2. Coconut Oil
Coconut oil significantly improves the condition of your dog’s skin and coat. Perhaps the best health benefits of coconut oil is that it contains proven antifungal and antibacterial properties. It offers many great benefits for your dog general healthand helps treat yeast infections and other skin problems.
You can use coconut topically, or give your pet coconut oil orally. Almost any brand of cold-pressed and refined coconut oil will work (eg, Viva Naturals). Give your pet 1 teaspoon to 1 tablespoon every other day, depending on the size of the dog. My dogs eat coconut oil as a treat, but you can also melt it and pour it over your pup’s food. Continue feeding the coconut oil until the infection is gone.
3. Apple Cider Vinegar
Organic Apple Cider Vinegar (ACV) like to boast is another versatile home remedy that you should always have on hand. It is a great treatment for many skin problems, including dry skin, hot spots and fungal infections.
You can apply ACV topically to the infected area. Wait at least 5 minutes before rinsing it off. You can also give it to your pup orally. Add 1-2 tablespoons (depending on your dog’s size) to his meals once a day. Keep adding it to his meals until the yeast infection is gone.
OTC Treatments for Dog Yeast Infection
Home remedies for yeast infections for dogs are natural, safe and effective for mild cases; however, I find that they don’t always work, especially when this skin condition has gotten out of hand.
