Honolulu – PETA is offering rewards up to $ 5,000 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person (s) who stabbed a dog named Bully to death.
Bully’s guardian, Victor Keela, was reportedly last seen alive on Monday night at his home by the Ulehava Creek. When Keela went to look for his favorite brown Shar Pei / Pit Bull mix in the yard at 7 a.m. on Tuesday, Bully went missing – and the fence had apparently been breached. It was then that Keela met a neighbor through the canal, who early in the morning heard a dog crying and found Bully with multiple stab wounds all over his body, including his chest, neck, back and genitals. She tried to save him, but his injuries were too serious.
Honolulu police are investigating this first-degree animal cruelty – a felony that could lead to a prison sentence of up to 10 years and a ban on animal ownership for up to five years – but no suspects have been identified. “Someone apparently stole this dog from his home and stabbed him several times, causing him to suffer and die, and his family was heartbroken,” says PETA senior vice president Colleen O’Brien. “PETA is asking anyone with information about this dog’s gruesome death to come forward so that his killer can be caught.”
