His heart began to beat again, but soon after, his heart rate began to decrease again and physicians uncovered a number of serious medical issues.
They put Carson Jack’s on life support and conducted a slew of tests and examinations on the young man. Although there were many unanswered issues regarding the reasons of this young boy’s sickness, physicians ultimately decided the only option was to withdraw him from life support.
What has happened is best described as follows. This adorable baby boy has suffered from two extremely rare traumatic conditions that are absolutely unconnected to one another, one being unable to determine the source of the problem, wrote the little boy’s grieving Nana Lisa Howe. Dr. X suspected a hemorrhage in the left temporal lobe of the boy’s brain, which was confirmed by a diagnosis of noncototic hypoglycemia, or NKH. Nkh is a hereditary illness that causes excessive accumulation of glycine in the body’s tissues and fluids.
It’s a rare condition, and after much prayer and deliberation, Chelsea and her family came to the decision to remove Carson’s life support and enable him to find healing in the presence of God. Doctors are taken aback after removing life support. As they prepared to discontinue life support, the family begged that they’d be blessed. And then something extraordinary happened as they were about to say goodbye to Carson Jack’s Howe. Even in the face of overwhelming odds, the young child began to breathe on his own.
We were witnessed to a miracle today. Lisa Howe shared her thoughts on Facebook. We were given ten minutes after withdrawing intensive care and the ventilator, and we were informed he would not be able to breathe on his own and that his heart would stop within those ten minutes. God and Carson, on the other hand, had other ideas. The moment physicians removed Carson from the ventilator, he began breathing normally and his heart rate and oxygen levels returned to normal.
He began breathing, swallowing, and gagging, all of which were things the doctors had told him he’d never be able to accomplish in his lifetime. The blessing, on the other hand, brought complete joy to the little boy’s family. The reason I believed we were so undeserving of a miracle is beyond me, and I’m not sure how long we’ll have him, but we’re lucky to have him right now and we’ll go ahead and take it, Lisa said. This miracle baby continues to astound everyone with his development. And while only God knows what may happen to Carson Jackson in the future, Lisa Howe and Chelsea Howe are savoring every moment they have with their adorable son, miracle baby continues to grow in strength.
Carson still has a long list of obstacles to face. Every day, however, comes with a new set of surprises. This miraculous child was still alive and growing stronger a few weeks after the family requested that doctors removed life support from him. He was defying all expectations and continuing to thrive. Carson has been making steady progress at home. His weight has stabilized at a healthy level, and his heart rate and oxygen levels remain consistent. Glycine levels in his blood have reduced drastically, which is astonishing to witness. In addition, while this lovely baby still has a long way to go, he has gone far beyond what the doctors could have imagined. According to her, she sat and waited for 6 hours after Phoenix’s life support was turned off. The amount of time physicians predicted it would take for her to pass away. However, 6 hours had passed and the infant was still fighting, according to the mother. From that moment on, she just continued to thrive, her mother remarked about her daughter. Despite this, they are still at risk.
Phoenix’s medical problems have not abated. She was released from the hospital in May on Hospice care after physicians determined that she would die if the remaining surgeries to reroute blood flow were carried out.
