Norfolk, Virginia. – Inspired by the resounding success of its tofu-themed holiday gifts, PETA launched new line of tofu-based personal care productsincluding Shampfu, Curditioner, Tofuthpaste and Soysturizer.
“Tofu is the most versatile substance in the world, so don’t eat it when you can also brush your teeth, moisturize your skin and brush your hair with it,” says PETA Senior Product Manager Tanner Hatfield. “PETA has been focusing on tofu, which is good for animals and good for the heart for many years, and we soy glad to see him move from the refrigerator to the bathroom vanity. “
For those who prefer to cook tofu the traditional way – internally – PETA offers a library of delicious recipes such as General Tso’s tofu, tofu scrambled, sweet potato and tofu dumplings and more. Tofu leaves animals alone, is protein-free, cholesterol-free, and may reduce the risk of heart disease, cancer, and many other life-threatening health problems. And while swine flu, bird flu, 1918 flu virus and COVID-19 all arose from keeping and killing animals for food, tofu never a pandemic began.
The group also offers buying guidance on cosmetics made with all-vegan ingredients (like coconut oil and aloe vera, not bean curd).
PETA, whose motto is in part that “the animals are not ours to eat or otherwise abuse” – opposes arrogance, a worldview focused on human superiority. For more information please visit PETA.org or subscribe to the group on Twitter, Facebook, or Instagram…
