Disgraced purebred horse trainer Bob Buffert – actually a simulator sent by PETA – crashed today at an induction ceremony at the National Horse Racing Museum and Hall of Fame in Saratoga Springs, NY to protect himself from PETA supporters who were there to demand removing it from the museum.
Ready to entertain those on the street with some of Buffert’s classic excuses, the PETA impostor carried some of the trainer’s tools: a bagel with poppy seeds, because he once claimed that the morphine found in his horse came from a stable employee who was chewing on one of them. … and a huge syringe, which is appropriate, since he more than 30 drug violations during his years as a purebred trainer.
Within the Hall of Fame, one horse was inaugurated, trained by Buffert, the American pharaoh. PETA noted that this triple crown winner has been beaten more than 30 times in the 2015 Kentucky Derby finish line. Another horse that Buffert has trained, Medina Spirit, may be disqualified from this year’s Derby for violating drug-related rules.
PETA is demanding that Buffert be unceremoniously removed from the Hall of Fame, given that 74 horses have died in his California care since 2000. “But I’m a real victim!” the wannabe Buffert whined. “The Hall of Fame is jam-packed with drug-banning coaches! Stephen Asmussen
In 2014 – two years before Stephen Asmussen was inducted into the Hall of Fame – a PETA investigation blew the lid of an aggressive drug kit and “treatment procedures” that were given to horses at a trainer’s stable in New York City. To speed up the metabolism of horses, workers recklessly injected a thyroid drug, lasix, which dehydrates the animals so that they lose weight and run faster. They also injected muscle relaxants, sedatives, and other powerful pharmaceuticals (sometimes even when the animals showed no obvious symptoms).
Horse legs showed multiple scars from liquid nitrogen burns“A process called freezing” and other annoying “bubbling” chemicals, ostensibly to stimulate blood flow to sore legs. The researcher noticed one horse that was “it hurt so much that it hurt even to stand.Stephen Asmussen’s death toll speaks for itself. Since 2014, 21 horses he trained have died.
Todd Pletcher
Throughout his career, Todd Pletcher, who will be inaugurated at the 2021 ceremony, has left a trail of bodies. Since 2010, 32 horses he trained in New York have died and he has been fined several times for violating drug-related regulations.

Since 2000, 122 horses have died in the care of this conscript, making him the trainer with the most horse deaths in California. Four of these deaths occurred within six months at Arcadia’s Santa Anita Park, which has since banned him. Since 2005, his horses have had at least 15 positive drug tests.
In 2020 alone, 69 horses died at the New York Racetrack, and 45 in 2021. too far. Most horses that are fatally injured on the course have preexisting injuries that were probably drug-disguised.
