Chrishell Stause knows what fantasy is. She makes a living selling million dollar homes to the Los Angeles elite on the hit reality TV series Netflix. Selling sunset… But when it comes to fantasy dogs, the reality TV star and actor knows you don’t have to lose a lot of money – you just have to visit your local animal shelter!
In her debut PETA campaign, Chrissell shares the touching story of adopting her older dog, Gracie, and explains why animal adoption is close to her heart. Watch the video below to hear the story of Chrissell and Gracie and find out why you should never buy dogs from breeders:
“Sometimes people just want a trendy cute dog – these dogs are in a shelter,” Chrisell told PETA. “I think it’s important for people to adopt. You don’t need a demand for breeders. Too many dogs already [who] not at home “.
Buying dogs from breeders or pet stores exacerbates the stray animal crisis by leaving fewer homes available for animals living in shelters. It affects millions upon millions of lives – it is estimated 70 million dogs and cats in the United States remain homeless at any given time, and only about 10% of them end up in animal shelters. Many of them need to be euthanized because they are unfit for adoption or because they simply lack good homes.
