This decision follows a letter from PETA and its subsidiary PETA Switzerland to Jean-Patrice Keck Ojemba Okese, the founder of DTA, in which he strongly recommended that plans to send a small animal into space be abandoned. As a token of gratitude, PETA awards Keck, who also agreed to ban all space experiments on animals with the Life Saver 2021 award.
Keka wrote to PETA the following:
Having listened with interest to your respective arguments, I make a firm decision and commitment to declare a complete ban on the use of animals in DTA space experiments, and along with this we are abandoning our plan to place the Galaxionaut aboard this launch, confirming to you that it will be immediately returned to it. natural environment.
