Stray animals in Cancun, Mexico have a friend at PETA Latino. Earlier this year, with the help of the city government, we sponsored the extremely popular, is free neuter / neuter, neuter 136 dogs and 64 cats in just two days – and now we are ready to help again.

Last week, the municipal animal shelter Dirección de Protección y Bienestar Animal – with the support of a PETA representative – ran two small clinics in Cancun that provided an additional 120 cats and dogs with neuter / neuter procedures free of charge.
We also promoted compassion for all animals, offering their guardians delicious vegan burritos and vegan starter kits in Spanish while their animals were in surgery.
Several more such life-saving clinics are planned to open in the near future.
From Cancun, our representative drove two and a half hours west to help the animals in the small town of Cichimila. With the support of local residents, in two days we carried out flea and tick treatment, as well as anthelmintic drugs for 84 dogs and cats.
