You’ll not imagine what the girl did when she found out. This is the story of Gabriella, an 18 year old who lived with her grandmother, an old lady who when she was able to work, always gave everything to her granddaughter, but unfortunately she suffered a severe fall during her age and was never able to walk again.
From that moment on, the young woman decided to work to be able to support her grandmother’s expenses and above all her medicine since she studied in the mornings to be a great business administrator. One afternoon leaving the University, Gabrielle, who is working downtown and saw a sign outside a very elegant restaurant that said Experienced waitress needed the next day.
In the afternoon, Gabriella went to the restaurant very changed and the one who attended her was the manager, a tall, handsome, very arrogant and haughty young man who said to her in a very strong voice, hello miss, what are you doing?
Can I help you? Gabriella replied, hello, how are you? I’m here for the announcement that you need a waitress and, well, I need the job immediately. The administrator named a Cardo, told her, do you have experience? Gabriella replied that no, that she had just turned 18, but that he would please give her the job, that she was a young woman who learned very quickly and that her grandmother was sick.
Ricardo, annoyed, told her, I am sorry, I can’t hire you. Besides, do you see all those people who are lining up behind you? They also want to work here, so get out of here. Luckily for Gabriella, the owner of the restaurant, Mr. Abelardo, was there, an excellent person who had listened to the entire conversation without Ricardo noticing, saying, Ricardo, don’t be so mean to the lady, she wants to work and so I heard, she wants to help her granny, so hire her at once.
Ricardo said, But Sir, she has no experience. Are you planning to disobey me? You hire her at once. Ricardo, very annoyed, listened and took him to the office where Gabriella was very scared for Ricardo and at the same time very happy because she would start working to help her grandmother. She would sign her contract for a six month trial.
Gabriella left that restaurant very happy to tell her grandmother the good news, but unfortunately, when she was entered the small room where she lived with the old woman, she was surprised that her grandmother did not respond to her Greetings. She was cold. She immediately went to her grandmother next to her who was a nurse, and touched her pulse, telling Gabriella, Your grandmother has passed away. I am so sorry. The 18 year old girl, very sad.
The world fell on top of her. That day was Friday, and luckily for her, the restaurant did not work on Saturdays or Sundays, so all the neighbors of that humble neighborhood where they lived made a small collection to be able to give the poor old woman a Christian burial. After her funeral, Gabriella dried her tears and went on with her life. Very sad for her grandmother. Coming out of College, she would arrive at the restaurant.
Ricardo, in a very bad mood, would tell her, you have to come an hour before Mr. Abelardo is on a trip. I am the boss now, okay? Gabriella, very sad, told them what had happened with her grandmother, and Ricardo, very happy, began to laugh without feeling any consideration for the girl. Little by little, Gabriella gained confidence in her work and learned more every day.
Ricardo always made her work more than she should have and always took Gabriella’s tips. She never said anything for fear that she might be fired from her job. That administrator was so annoyed with the girl that he wanted to throw her out as she was. The person who was in charge of the cashier box was Mr. Abelardo’s mother.
His name was Mrs. Juana. She was in charge of the finances in that restaurant, and thanks to her, there was never a single Penny missing from that petty cash box. And so a year passed quickly. Gabriella had more confidence, and Mrs.
Juana, Mr. Abelardo’s mother, had a lot of confidence with Gabriella, seeing that Ricardo found it almost impossible to get the young woman out of the restaurant, and he decided to bore her, sending her every day to take out all the garbage from the bathroom and the kitchen. Gabriella, every time she did this, she would go out the back door. She always see a young girl with a very sad face who was always searching through the bags of food if there was bread or something to eat. Immediately, Gabriella told the girl, hello, you’re hungry, right?
Wait for me here right now. I’ll get you something to eat. The girl, very embarrassed. She just said, thank you, miss. Every day Gabriella would start taking out the garbage through the back door that the restaurant had, and every time the girl came, she’d always take out any leftover food or some hot coffee, since it was in the cold season.
On one occasion, Mrs. Juana, Mr. Abelardo’s mother, said to Ricardo, Ricardo, you go and take out all the trash from the restaurant. Leave me here with Gabriella. I’m going to teach her how to do the math, because I’m going a week’s vacation, and she’s almost two years on the job.
That set Ricardo on fire, and he had to pay attention to what Mrs. Hunter said, and with great anger, he had to take out all the trash. And at the moment of doing that, he found the little girl that Gabriella gave her food. Ricardo, very bitter, told her, what are you doing here? Starving.
Get out of here. Do you want food? Well, look for it. And he threw the food right where all the dogs were. The little Baker began to cry and she left.
Very sad. Gabriella quickly learned that Mrs. Juana taught her about the money box and immediately went over to see if the girl was waiting for her to take the food out of it. But when she came out, she was surprised that she was gone. Very sad.
She went to her house to rest. The next day, Mrs. Wanda was no longer there. She had already gone on vacation, and Mr. Abelardo still hadn’t said when he would arrive.
Gabriella was no longer the waitress. Now she was in the petty cash account. She seemed like she had a better position, but she was still the same girl, humble as ever. Immediately, some young people who were in the complicity with Mr. Ricardo arrived and deactivated the security cameras.
Night would come and Gabrielle’s accounts did not agree. She did not know what to do. She was $300 short, very late. She came out crying, saying, now what am I going to do? Mrs.
Juan and Mr. Abelardo were going to fire me. When she walked out the door, she found the girl waiting for her. Gabriella greeted her and said between tears, you’re hungry, right? Homeless girl said, yes.
Gabriella told her, Would you like to live with me? I have a single bed that belonged to my grandmother. Come on. They arrived at Gabriella’s room, where she gave her a blanket, a warm bed, and a very calm girl told her, Why are you crying, Gabriella? Gabriella told her that she lacked money and that someone had taken that money from her and that the next day they would ask at her work, Gabriella.
Day after day, her accounts did not agree. So she told Ricardo, Mr. Ricardo, someone’s taking money from me. Very astute. Ricardo, knowing it was him, told her, that’s strange.
I haven’t seen anything. Gabriella checked the cameras and they were offline rather knowing who he was, and there was no proof. No one would say that Ricardo has been because he’d been working in that restaurant for ten years and Mr. Abelardo trusted him a lot. The weekend passed and Gabriella had to check in.
On Monday. The homeless girl had left without saying goodbye. Gabriella thought that was very strange. Gabriella would arrive at the restaurant very early since she was on vacation at the University, and at the time of doing the accounts, Mrs. Juana and Mr.
Abelardo saw that in a week that Gabriella had been in charge of the petty cash, she had taken $300 per day from them. Gabriella didn’t know what to say. Mr. Abelardo, very furious, called Ricardo, saying, what happened to the cameras? Ricardo very scared.
We told him that the cameras did not work well. That is why it was not possible to see who he had been. At that moment, Mr. Abelardo, with a very thick voice, said to her, you are leaving here, Gabriella. You’re fired.
And at that moment, the young Baker came in the back door saying she hasn’t taken anything. She wouldn’t be able to take money from you. Supposedly I didn’t eat. She gave me food. She gave me a bed and hot chocolate instead.
This guy just insulted me. Denied me the food that was left. And above all, he told me starving rat dad rather the experiment we did work. This man is not good for an administrator. And the cameras do not have power.
They work with batteries. So take them out and we’ll see who took the money. Ricardo told him, Mr. Abelardo, do not listen to this Vagabond. Mr.
Abelardo, very bitter told him this Vagabond. You see here is my daughter. She’s eleven years old and she did all this. How loyal a worker we have. Mr.
Abelardo called the authorities and together they saw that Ricardo took the money and that poor Gabriella had nothing to do with it. That she was always sincere and had a big heart. Gabriella became the administrator. And just that year she finished her University degrees. Well, the story teaches you that even if you have a higher position than the others, you have to remain humble.
