UN LAB Middleware Label: End Names
Given SeaWorld’s long and infamous history of animal exploitation, it’s hard to imagine why any company would want its name to be associated with such brutality. Despite this, Build-A-Bear opens store in SeaWorld Orlando abusecop park in Florida, and we need your help to convince him to cut ties.
More than 40 killer whales and over 300 other dolphins and whales have died at SeaWorld, many prematurely. Although the company ended its dirty killer whale breeding program following public outcry, it continues to use whales and other dolphins as breeding machines, creating more animals forced to live in poverty. Dolphins are naturally talkative, social animals that have complex relationships with other members of their flock. Forcing them to perform tricks in order to entertain people is a form of arrogance, a worldview focused on human superiority.
Nearly every major brand supporting the park has already severed ties with it, including Airbnb, Delta Airlines, Mattel, Mott’s, Taco Bell and Tripadvisor. The world is turning its back on the cruelty of captive cetaceans, and Build-A-Bear must keep up with the times and join a long list of those who reject such inhuman treatment of animals.
Encourage Build-A-Bear to rethink its partnership with SeaWorld and stop approving of this brutality.
