Concord, New Hampshire – Convicted arsonist Christopher Vincent is currently in prison for setting fire to a chicken barn and killing birds (among other crimes), and PETA sent a letter to New Hampshire Prison Chief Michelle Edmark asking him to help ensure that Vincent is no longer doing harm. suffering animals – and promoting non-violence in prison – by providing him with strictly vegan food.
“Just like humans, chickens and other animals feel pain and fear, value their lives, and don’t want to be burned alive in a barn or bleed out in a slaughterhouse,” says PETA executive vice president Tracy Reiman. “PETA points out that greens and beans are healthy and economical options that promote kindness and compassion among prisoners and in all other communities.”
PETA, whose motto is in part that “the animals are not ours to eat” – opposes arrogance, a worldview focused on human superiority. For more information please visit PETA.org or subscribe to the group on Twitter, Facebook, or Instagram…

Overseer
New Hampshire State Prison for Men
Dear Ms. Edmark:
On behalf of PETA and over 6.5 million of our members and supporters around the world, including tens of thousands in New Hampshire, I call on you to urge you not to let Christopher Vincent harm other animals by serving him vegan food. during his time in New Hampshire. State prison for men. As you know, Vincent was convicted of arson and cruelty to animals for setting fire to two buildings, one of which contained more than a dozen chickens.
Families, law enforcement, and courts have begun to recognize that ignoring animal cruelty as a “minor” crime is like ignoring a ticking time bomb, as research shows that people who commit animal cruelty often don’t stop there – many continue target their fellows. Prisons, including Alabama’s highest security prison, William E. Donaldson Correctional Facility, have introduced vegan meals as part of successful violence reduction programs.
It’s easy to see how avoiding meat, eggs, and dairy products promotes compassion. Workers kill pigs for bacon, cows for hamburgers, and chickens for nuggets by slitting their throats and then often cutting them into pieces while they are still conscious. On egg farms, the ends of the sensitive beaks of the chicks are cut off without pain relievers. The mother cows used for milk production endure a constant cycle of gestation and childbirth, and their precious cubs are detached from them soon after birth so that people can collect milk for themselves. The only non-violent food is vegan.
Serving Vincent vegan food would also improve his health, saving taxpayers money on health care costs. Vegans have far fewer cases of heart disease, obesity, cancer, diabetes, stroke, and dementia than meat eaters.
We’ll be happy to help you develop a cruelty-free meal plan for Vincent or all of your inmates. Thanks for your time and attention.
Sincerely,
Tracy Reiman
Executive Vice President
