How does the process work?
Here’s how to apply for the PETA-Approved Vegan logo:
- Complete questionnaire as well as guarantee statement…
- Ask your manufacturer (s) or supplier (s) to complete a warranty statement.
- PETA will review your guarantee applications and questionnaire (which make up your application) and will contact you with any questions.
- If your application is accepted, pay the annual certification fee and enter into a licensing agreement.
When is payment required?
Your company can file an annual PETA-Approved Vegan certification fee at any time during the certification process.
How much is the annual certification fee?
The amount is determined by the estimated annual income of your company:
Annual income | Annual certification fee |
Up to USD 15,000 | USD 250 |
15,001-100,000 dollars | USD 300 |
USD 100,001-250,000 | USD 400 |

Is testing required for our product to prove vegan status?
Testing is not a requirement for the certification process, but we do not discourage it. If your company sends us vegan test results, we will gladly accept them. We made a recommendation for the test center.
PETA also performs random testing of PETA-Approved Vegan certified products as an additional verification measure.
How long does the application process take?
This can be done in different ways, but it can be done in a few days if the company provides all the necessary materials. Factors affecting lead time are the number of suppliers and manufacturers, and wired payment.
