New York – “Feel the beets. Get rid of the meat. ” It’s a vegan-positive message from PETA and legendary music producer Jermaine Dupree that is featured on two new billboards in the Big Apple, and an animal rights group will be handing out free under-wing Seitan BBQ wings in Times Square on Sunday. The hip-hop legend – whose other PETA billboard now hangs on Brooklyn Avenue in Brooklyn – first went vegan more than a decade ago and praises such a lifestyle for its improved health and energy boost.
“Whether it’s a slice of seitan or a bowl of beetroot, vegan food will take away animal-friendly handling,” says PETA executive vice president Tracy Reiman. “PETA billboards not to be missed should hook on a living with everyone who cares about animals and wants to feel better. “
When: Sunday, August 22, 15.00
Where: 1500 Broadway, New York
PETA, whose motto is in part that “the animals are not ours to eat” – opposes arrogance, a worldview focused on human superiority.
