IN Animals of Asia the team rescues the bears with 1994 year They operate award-winning bear rescue reserves in China as well as Vietnam, and is the only organization in China with a bear shelter.
While Animals of Asia the team conducted a historic operation on the ground, Ricky Gervais, Dame Judi Dench, Leslie Nicole, Matt my question, Rick Wakeman, and many other actors, musicians and animal activists were waiting for news that their adopted bears were among those transported to their eternal home.
“The relief is now spreading to Animals Asia, our employees and supporters around the world. – and especially the team in China – impossible to describe ” Animal Asia founder and CEO Jill Robinson MBE, widely recognized as the world’s foremost expert in the brutal bear bile industry, has campaigned against it ever since. 1993, said WAN. “For eight long years we worked for this day and kept the dream in our hearts, and finally 101 beautiful, patient bears returned“ home ”. Thanks to World Animal News for your faith and support, it’s done. “
The story began in 2013, when Animals of Asia who contacted the new owner of the biliary farm in Nanning who didn’t want to be part of a terrible industry.
More than 132 bears initially surrendered to the Animals of Asia needed intensive medical care after undergoing invasive surgery and many years of removal of bile. The original agreement was that Animals Asia took over the health and veterinary care of the bears kept at the facility and transformed the farm into the second bear sanctuary in China. However, unpredictable and unfortunate events have forced the organization to return the bears to the existing bear rescue center in St. Chengdu.
It took eight years overcome all legal and property issues as well as the recent pandemic to make this big homecoming possible for these bears. In all these years of frustration, disappointment and heartache, the resilient Animals Asia Bear & Vet team has never felt desperate or cared for these wild animals in less than the best possible way.
When all the conditions were finally met, this logistically challenging mission consisted of three stages: April 19 to May 27, with nine trucks per phase carrying 101 bears in 750 miles from the former bile farm to Nanning, Guangxi Province, to Chengdu Bear Rescue Center in Sichuan Province.
The bears will spend their first 30 days in quarantine before gradually merging with the rest of the rescued bears in the center.
“We are so proud of the way these bears handled this journey,” said Ryan Marcel Sukayet, director of the Bear and Veterinarian Team of Animals Asia China. “Most of them have spent their entire lives imprisoned on a bear farm. It was very unpleasant for them to be suddenly transported halfway through China to their new home. “
The successful completion of this operation demonstrates that large-scale relocation of vulnerable species is both feasible and feasible. Animals Asia believes that real and lasting change can only be achieved through constructive collaboration with all stakeholders, including authorities and local communities.
