Your car serves you in many ways, but did you know that it can also help animals? Buying a car with a vegan interior is a great start, but decorating your car with vegan decor and PETA literature can do even more. Here are some easy ways to shift from neutral and start moving forward to improve animal life from the comfort of your driver’s seat.
1. Create your own vegan license plate.
The limits here are limitless – well, almost. A personalized nameplate can contain up to seven letters and numbers with a space or hyphen. You may have trouble getting approval for some posts, such as LVTOFU, depending on the reviewer’s sense of humor or understanding of witty ambiguity, but there are many other options. Several options include KALELVR, EATPLTS, NUTMILK, and GOVEGAN. Get creative and have fun!
2. “Kale, yes!” Can be decorated with bumper stickers.
Nothing excites the inner child in all of us like decorating with stickers, but adulthood so rarely requires them. PETA bumper stickers, though, are a great excuse to channel all the energy of a kindergarten art project with an end result that has the potential to save animal lives. Veganism saves the lives of nearly 200 animals every year, so if even one person is moved by seeing a simple sticker it will make a big difference.
3. Tired of the status quo? Catch the breeze on the open road with PETA flags
If you want something a little more than NASCAR, then the ‘End Speciesism’ car flag may be just what your trip needs. Species is the belief that humans are superior to other animals and is used as a pretext for exploitation. Make it clear to everyone on the road that all animals deserve respect and kindness.
4. There is no need to “cast a shadow” when you have a sun visor to keep your car interior cool.
It is always difficult to leave an air-conditioned home during heat waves, especially if you know that there is a danger of burning yourself with your hands on the steering wheel when you get into the car. The temperature inside the car rises very quickly, reaching 99 degrees in just 20 minutes on a pleasant 70-degree day. The PETA sun visor not only reflects some of the sun’s light, helping to lower the temperature of your car, but also reminds others to leave their dogs at home when they are on the run.
5. Is the dog in a hot car? Hammer time!
Speaking of overheated cars, no one should ever leave a dog unattended in a car on a warm day, whether the windows are open or the car is parked in the shade. There are a few steps to follow before smashing someone else’s car window, but if the dog doesn’t respond, it might be time to steer and damage the window. Before using the PETA rescue hammer, be sure to gather several witnesses who can confirm that the dog’s life is in imminent danger, take photos or video of the incident, and wait for the authorities to arrive when the dog gets out of the car.
6. Keep the leash and foldable bag in the trunk.
A leash, carrier, and a heavy pair of gloves won’t take up much space in your car, and you never know when you might stumble upon an animal in need of help. The first step in helping a lost dog or cat is to secure the animal gently and calmly, so you need to have a heavy pair of gloves so as not to scratch or scratch the animal, but to hold the animal carefully. It’s also helpful to have a box of dog treats or cat food in your car to seduce your pet if it’s nervous, and a blanket to calm it down when it’s safe in your car. It can also come in handy for a printout of the steps to follow in case you find a stray or lost animal.
7. Have a few vegan starter kits in your glove box just in case.
You never know when someone might look at the animal rights messages on your car and start asking a few questions. Keeping multiple copies of PETA’s free Vegan Starter Kit in your glove compartment can go a long way for the curious non-vegan who has a list of resources to start changing their lives thanks to you!
There is no better way to prove that you support animal rights. Reinforce your friends’ passion for compassion by sharing this post on Facebook and Twitter, and encourage others to sign up for a free copy of our Vegan Starter Kit.
