Chicago – On Thursday, PETA supporters, clad in unmissable alpaca, sheep, cow, goose and goat masks, will urge local potential shoppers to avoid Urban Outfitters, Inc. stores, which include Anthropologie and Free People – in three locations and require the company to retain alpaca wool, wool, leather, mohair, cashmere and down to their original owners.
When: Thursday 29 July 12:00
Where: Anthropologie, 111 E. Chicago Ave. (near intersection with N. Rush Street), Chicago
“Urban Outfitters, Inc. stores. “These are graveyards of animals that have been beaten, cut up and killed,” says PETA executive vice president Tracy Reiman. “PETA encourages Urban Outfitters brands to comply with the company’s sustainability and ethical consumer requirements by selling only vegan materials – which would be easy to do because they already have them in stock.”
PETA – whose motto is in part that “the animals are not ours” – opposes arrogance, a worldview focused on human excellence.
