Charlotte, North Carolina – For Father’s Day, PETA Places A Giant Billboard On I-77, Calling Everyone prevent paternity, that is, dogs and cats. PETA selected North Carolina for its campaign because the state is experiencing a flood of stray animals, abandonment of “pets” and severely overcrowded shelters.
“Dogs can’t use condoms, so we must find other ways to keep litter after litter from being born just to be homeless,” says PETA President Ingrid Newkirk. “PETA’s ad states that for every dog neutered, countless others will not be born in a world already teeming with homelessness.”
PETA notes that approximately 70 million dogs and cats in the US are homeless at any given time. It is estimated that only 10% of them end up in animal shelters, many of whom must eventually be euthanized for reasons including injury, illness, old age, emotional and psychological damage, and a lack of good homes. The solution is prevention through sterilization and sterilization, as well as always adopting animals from shelters and not buying animals from breeders or pet shops, which exacerbates the crisis of homelessness.
PETA, whose motto is in part that “animals are not ours to abuse in any way,” is opposed to arrogance, a worldview focused on human superiority. For more information please visit PETA.org or subscribe to the group on Twitter, Facebook, or Instagram…
