Montreal – Following appeals from PETA campaigners and pressure from members and other activists who are unhappy with the cruel treatment of animals used in clothing, luxury outerwear company Moose Knuckles announced that it would be phasing out fur. The following is a statement from PETA Executive Vice President Tracy Reiman:
The end of fur is near as nearly every retailer with every business flair, from Canada Goose to Neiman Marcus to Moose Knuckles, is stopping selling scraps of tortured animal fur, realizing that no one with a heart will buy it anymore. It’s a big week for grassroots activists and PETA, pushing all these brands to move away from fur, and the death of the fur industry is just around the corner.
PETA – whose motto is in part that “the animals are not ours” – opposes arrogance, a worldview focused on human excellence. For more information please visit PETA.org or subscribe to the group on Twitter, Facebook, or Instagram…
