Clarendon, Pennsylvania – Just received by PETA, a recent USDA inspection report reveals multiple serious violations of federal animal welfare law minimum standards at the local Wild Woods Animal Park roadside zoo. The report describes a quivering lynx suffering from an ugly leg, another one so slender that hips and spine were visible, drinking water tanks contaminated with accumulated feces and other waste, and bears and otters forced to swim in pools of opaque black water. it hasn’t been removed since last fall.

“If these long-suffering underweight animals are not transferred to reputable institutions, they will only get worse,” says Brittany Peet, deputy general counsel for PETA’s Animal Bondage Law Enforcement Foundation. “PETA is pushing this hellish ramshackle roadside zoo to give these animals a second chance before it’s too late.”

PETA recently sent a letter to Wild Woods Animal Park offering assistance in finding permanent accommodation for animals at reputable institutions that have the resources and experience to provide excellent care.

PETA, whose motto is in part that “the animals are not ours to be used for entertainment” – opposes arrogance, a worldview focused on human superiority. For more information please visit PETA.org or subscribe to the group on Twitter, Facebook, or Instagram…
