Norfolk, Virginia. – PETA offers rewards for information leading to the arrest and conviction of those responsible for dumping an emaciated dying ferret into a truck on the side of Johnston’s Road. The Good Samaritan contacted the PETA emergency line after finding the animal in a dirty, feces-covered blue cat carrier, unable to stand or even hold its head, and with feces caked on its hind legs. PETA rushed him to an emergency clinic, where the veterinarian decided that the animal should be euthanized.

The Norfolk Animal Welfare Department is investigating, and PETA is looking forward to public assistance to solve the case.
“PETA and other animal shelters are here to help the community with resources to keep animals like this vulnerable ferret from suffering and slowly starving to death in a roadside cage,” says PETA Senior Vice President Daphne Nachminovic. “Please, never abandon the animal – call for help instead. And if you find an animal in need, act like this good Samaritan. “
Anyone with information on this case should contact PETA at 757-622-PETA (757-622-7382).
