LaPorte County, Indiana – A herd of dozens of Holstein cows rushed to flee after escaping from a La Porte County, Indiana farm on Saturday – and PETA wants them to get free. Holstein cows are commonly used in the dairy industry. Below you will find a statement from PETA President Ingrid Newkirk:
Cows value their freedom and family as much as humans do, so it’s no surprise that they decide to band together and try to escape the dairy industry. Any of us will escape the life of forced fertilization after seeing our beloved babies stolen from us and go to the slaughterhouse as soon as our bodies give up, and PETA invites everyone touched by the courage of these cows to become vegan – and save the lives of almost 200 animals in year.
PETA, whose motto is in part that “animals are not ours to eat or otherwise abuse” – opposes specisism, which is a worldview focused on human superiority. For more information please visit PETA.org or subscribe to the group on Twitter, Facebook, or Instagram…
