“PETA will remember Richard as a brilliant director and producer whose films made people think of animals asone, not something… Pioneer, long before Blackfish opening his eyes and hearts, Richard revealed the suffering of captive killer whales with Free Willie– and thanks to the impressive effect of his film, Keiko the killer whale was rescued from the marine park prison and spent many joyful years swimming freely in the coastal waters of Norway. Richard holds a special place in PETA’s heart for his activeness and kindness, and we will miss him. “
