Louisville, Kentucky. – See the following statement by PETA Senior Vice President Cathy Guillermo regarding the lawsuit filed today against Bob Buffert, whose Medina Spirit horse failed a drug test after the Kentucky Derby:
Any gambler who loses a bet on the Mandaloon in the Kentucky Derby would be wise to contact a lawyer. With PETA’s support, Jeff Tretter created a legal roadmap for bettors when he received $ 20,000 in his pocket following a lawsuit against a coach whose horse failed a drug test. If it takes a hundred lawsuits to stop doping, we urge bettors to take the fraudsters to court.
PETA – whose motto, among other things, is that “animals do not belong to us to be used for entertainment or abuse in other ways” – opposes arrogance, a worldview focused on human superiority. For more information please visit PETA.org or subscribe to the group on Twitter, Facebook, or Instagram…
