Nashville, Tennessee. – See Statement by Dr. Alka Chandna, Ph.D., PETA’s VP of Laboratory Investigations. Vanderbilt University Official Alert from the USDA of Violations of Federal Animal Welfare Regulations.
A just published federal report obtained by PETA shows that Vanderbilt University has received an official warning from the USDA for violating federal animal welfare regulations. The warning does not reverse the trauma and agony suffered by the animals in the Vanderbilt laboratories, where four guinea pigs died during failed intubation and ventilator testing, in which the animals were not fully anesthetized and were likely to have been treated negligently, but this shows that Vanderbilt must get out of this state. the dirty, bloody business of animal experimentation and redirect your resources to modern non-animal research methodologies that will truly help humans.
