Fort Lauderdale, Florida. – To help healthcare professionals in Broward County, hit hard by COVID-19, PETA will deliver free vegan meals to Broward Health on Tuesday. Served hot at Green Bar & Kitchen, delicious BBQ Bacon Cheeze, Blackened Chicken Caeser Wraps and Mac + Cheeze with Shiitake Bacon – all plant-based – should be a relief for the hardworking staff.
“All Broward healthcare professionals need support, so PETA gives them a healthy and satisfying exercise,” says PETA President Ingrid Newkirk. “We want to brighten up some shifts, save some animals and remind everyone that plant foods have never caused a pandemic.”
PETA notes that 75% of recent infectious diseases in humans have been caused by other animal species. COVID-19 is believed to have originated in bat caves or live animal markets in China. In addition to helping prevent future pandemics, every person who goes vegan saves the lives of nearly 200 animals every year. and significantly reduces their risk of health problems, including stroke, cancer and heart disease.
PETA, whose motto is in part that “the animals are not ours to eat” – opposes arrogance, a worldview focused on human superiority. For more information please visit PETA.org or subscribe to the group on Twitter, Facebook, or Instagram…
