Baltimore – On Wednesday, a group of PETA supporters will hand out free garlic-free crispy cakes flavored by Old Bay from famed local vegan eatery The Land of Kush to entice recipients to choose mouth-watering animal-free seafood and leave sensitive crabs – usually boiled alive – off their plates.
When: Wednesday, September 29, 12:00 pm
Where: At the intersection of Light and E. Pratt Streets, Baltimore.
“Crabs are smart housewives and learners who feel pain and fear just like you and me,” says PETA executive vice president Tracy Reiman. “PETA encourages everyone to switch to delicious vegan seafood that will allow aquatic animals to run and swim freely in their oceanfront homes.”
PETA, whose motto is in part that “the animals are not ours to eat” – opposes arrogance, a worldview focused on human superiority.
