Norfolk, Virginia. – This week, Gen Z members wearing animal masks take to the streets with huge photos and videos of animal cruelty, celebrating official start youth movement against human superiority, organized Students Against Racism (SOS)– PETA-backed youth-led rebellion against arrogance, the archaic belief that other animals are worse and exist exclusively for humans.

Photos of this nationwide week of action are available hereand video is available upon request. More student events are planned throughout the country in the coming weeks.

“When I say I’m against arrogance, I’m saying that my humanity doesn’t make me better than other animals,” says Ariel Phillips, an SOS organizer in Kansas City. “We don’t have the right to experiment on mice, eat pigs, wear cow hide or cage tigers just because we walk on two legs instead of four.”

End Species Events took place in Washington Square Park, New York; Copley Square in Boston; Lea McKagan Park at Lee Summit, Missouri; The James Branch Cabell Library of Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond, Virginia; and other locations, with additional events planned in over a dozen cities, including Bonifay, Florida; Cupertino, California; and Pittsburgh.

SOS members called on Urban Outfitters to stop selling animal materials, called on their schools to add vegan dining rooms on campus, protested the National Institutes of Health’s monkey scare experiments, and more.

SOS shares PETA’s motto: “Animals are not ours to experiment, eat, carry, use for fun or otherwise abuse.” For more information please visit SOS.PETA.org or subscribe to SOS on Instagram…
