Berlin Center, Ohio – The United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) recently cited local roadside zoo Noah’s Lost Ark after a public representative – an East Coast animal exhibitor named Larry Wallach – walked into a cage with a tiger with an electric rod and dog. The quote comes after PETA notified the USDA of an incident that occurred during Wallach’s “visit” to see the roughly 10-month-old tiger he dumped on the Berlin Center grounds after it outgrew the dilapidated cage he kept it in. below deck. his residence in New York.
“Allowing a man and a dog to be trapped in a tiger’s cage is going to be in trouble,” says Michelle Sinnott, PETA’s deputy director of animal captivity law enforcement. “PETA is urging the public to stay away from reckless roadside zoos that routinely endanger animals and the public.”
Earlier this year, PETA’s recommendation for a Facebook Live video – one of which depicts Wallach electrocuting the same tiger, Shebu – led to numerous references to Wallach’s federal animal welfare law, including not following veterinary guidelines for treating a broken toe. Sheba’s legs, trapped her in a dilapidated aviary with broken floorboards, and put her and the wolf at risk of injury, allowing them to interact in dangerous ways. Despite Wallach’s story, Noah’s Lost Ark staff still allowed him to engage in dangerous and reckless acts that put Sheba in danger.
PETA – whose motto is partly that “animals are not ours to be used for entertainment” – opposes arrogance, a worldview focused on human excellence. For more information please visit PETA.org or subscribe to the group on Twitter, Facebook, or Instagram…
