Seaside Heights, NJ – PETA will kick off its Independence Day celebrations early Thursday morning by displaying a banner over the Jersey shore that reads “No Fish 4”.th… America, go vegan! “
When: Thursday 1 July 12:00 to 14:00.
Where: The plane will fly over the beaches between Seaside Heights and Long Branch, New Jersey.
“Behind every fish fillet was a person who valued his freedom as much as we do,” says PETA President Ingrid Newkirk. “PETA has all the recipes and tips anyone could need to claim animal independence and go vegan by July 4th and beyond.”
Fish are known to feel pain as keenly as mammals, have long-term memory and sing underwater. But those who are killed for food, stabbed, crushed, suffocated, or opened and gutted, and all this is in the mind. Every person who goes vegan saves about 200 animals each year and reduces their risk of cancer, heart disease, stroke, diabetes and obesity.
PETA offers numerous Vegan Fourth of July recipes on its website, as well as a guide to the many artificial fish options available, including Gardein’s Golden Fishless Filets, Good Catch Plant-Based Seafood, New Wave Foods Plant-Based Shrimp, and Vegan Crab pies from Sophie’s Kitchen.
PETA, whose motto is in part that “the animals are not ours to eat” – opposes arrogance, a worldview focused on human superiority. For more information please visit PETA.org or subscribe to the group on Twitter, Facebook, or Instagram…
