Norfolk, Virginia. – Now that 47% of Americans want to include more vegan foods in their meals, a wave of vegan seafood options is hitting the market, so National Seafood Month (October) is just around the corner, PETA seized the opportunity.tunaty rank Top 10 Vegan Seafood Brands available throughout the country.
- Good catch: Crispy Vegan Good Catch Fillets and Savory Vegan Crab Cakes were tested and sold earlier this year at select Long John Silver locations! You can find them in freezer aisles along with fish sticks, hamburgers and Good Catch.
- Gardain: His Golden Fishless Filets are great for tacos or in a basket of fries, and his Mini Crabless Cakes are perfect to share! Find them all over the place, from Target to Whole Foods to Kroger.
- May Wah Vegetarian Market: This New York-based establishment will supply vegan versions of everything, including squid, salmon and shrimp.
- BeLeaf: Shoppers online and in Los Angeles can buy BeLeaf Vegan Shrimp, replacing the “real” item you just have to see to believe.
- Sophie’s Kitchen: Sophie’s fish fillets, shrimp, crab tarts, smoked salmon and Toona – staples in the freezer aisle – can make a vegan meal for an entire seafood buffet.
- Plant Based Seafood Co: This Chesapeake Bay company knows seafood – and its crunchy coconut prawns sprinkled with scallops and lobster crab cakes have a unique flavor to prove it.
- Rights: Shoppers at Erewon Market on the West Coast can purchase next-generation Kuleana Tuna and Loja, and all Poké Bar diners can prepare a fresh and wholesome Kuleana Tuna Bowl.
- Plant-based products: Available online and at select grocery stores, Plant Based Foods offers Zalmon Sashimi and Notuna Sashimi perfect for sushi; Crispy prawns with lemon and calamaris, ideal for stir-frying; and even Cavi-art vegan caviar, perfect for any unusual spread!
- Worthington: Its flaky and versatile vegan tuna, found in major grocery stores, pairs well with vegan tuna salad, croquettes, ceviche, and more.
- Jinka: Online and Whole Foods shoppers can taste all three flavors of Jinka vegan tuna paste: Original, Lemon and Dill, and Spicy.

The vegan seafood industry is booming – expected to grow 28% over the next decade to be worth $ 1.3 billion. Vegan seafood is free of saturated animal fat and cholesterol. and Helps prevent fish from being gutted on the deck of fishing boats, live lobsters falling into boiling water, and crabs being dismembered while they are still awake.
Each company will receive a framed certification from PETA, which offers many vegan seafood recipes on its website.
