From mushroom skin in the garment industry and organ-on-crystal in medicine, to classroom dissection using SynFrog software and horse breeding using non-fungible tokens, the use of animals is rapidly being replaced by technology and innovation.

If you can use your talents to save animals from exploitation, you can win the Future Without Speciation Award.

PETA awards prizes ranging from $ 1,000 to $ 10,000 to university students who come up with a revolutionary idea and concrete action plan to help animals. This award does not transfer ownership of PETA or prevent you from patenting your invention.

Applicants are encouraged to identify an area in which animals are still exploited and create a patented original idea or prototype that would allow them to be replaced.

Inventions must be marketed as a viable alternative to the methods you seek to replace. Students can work in groups or individually. Prize amounts will be determined by PETA and based on the performance, practicality and promise of the proposed alternative.
