For the two puppies, the innocent fussing turned into a nightmare when they stumbled upon puddles of sticky coal tar spilling from overturned barrels. Since they were completely covered in poisonous mucus, everything that was next to them – clothes, debris, dirt – adhered to their small bodies, giving them weight and ruffling their fur (ah!) as the resin hardens.
A worried teacher from a nearby high school called the animal Rakhat for help after spotting two siblings. The couple, terrified and panicked by their ordeal, struggled to dodge the first rescuer to arrive, so he called for reinforcements to help calm the puppies before the thick mucus would prevent them from moving.
Once the team members arrived at the scene, they gently sedated the puppies, took them to a clean area, and began to cut off pieces of cloth and larger pieces of debris that adhered to them. Rescuers slowly and carefully rubbed coconut oil into the puppies’ fur and skin to begin the process of removing the dangerous mucus.

This whole ordeal lasted several days as the patient Animal Rahat staff repeated the same procedure, gently massaging the puppies with oil, giving them food and water, and then showing great tenderness.
On the fourth day, the puppies returned to their wild nature, without the debris and tar that weighed them down. The staff took them to their mother, who immediately greeted Mehal and Nehal, letting them suck milk and play.
