To answer your question, YesPETA Knows About Greta Thunberg Vogue Scandinavia the cover showing her in a woolen garment. We’ve been bombarded with complaints from concerned people who know what’s going on in these shearing sheds, on trucks, on export boats that transport sheep to the Middle East for slaughter and elsewhere. And while we applaud everyone’s concern for the welfare of the sheep and the planet, we know that Greta – as a person heartbroken and angry not only at environmental destruction, but also at the meat industry and its cruelty towards animals – could not even imagine. We need everyone to open their eyes to the deception that “humane wash»And never become a victim of it. PETA sent Greta videos from our undercover investigationsand we hope she looks at them and sees what’s really going on.
The wool industry wants you to believe that shearing sheep is akin to shearing animals, but 14 shocking PETAs exposed to reveal what they actually endure:
Regardless of the farm, on every continent, when undercover investigators from PETA and our international subsidiaries entered the shearing sheds, they found that the sheep were thrown to the floor, kicked and kneeled; their necks are crooked; and their bodies are cut to shreds. Disturbing eyewitness footage – compiled in 14 revelations of 117 wool factories on four continents – is undeniable, and show that workers in the global wool industry beat, stamped, maimed and abandoned defenseless sheep.
This abuse is associated with wool coats, hats, socks, and other items of clothing sold in stores around the world.
Remember that veganism is not about being perfect, but about doing your best for the animals, the planet, and yourself.
We believe that once Greta finds out about the information below, she will give up wool as she deserves to be avoided. We are sure that you will too. When we know better we can do better for animals, the environment and each other.
From climate change to water pollution and wildlife destruction (including with destructive poisons like 1080), the wool industry is killing the Earth, as is leather and wool there is a branch.
Sheep breeding is an ecological disaster. In terms of methane production, sheep are second only to cows.
Sheep farming can have enormous detrimental effects on ecosystems. Research has shown how sheep dipping – a toxic chemical used to rid sheep of parasites – can poison nearby waterways and kill fish and other aquatic animals. The huge flocks of sheep raised by the wool industry produce huge amounts of manure that pollutes water, land and air. And they give off methane, a greenhouse gas.
Sheep are intelligent animals that can recognize dozens of people from photographs, and a picture of a friend can even calm them down in a stressful situation. They can memorize faces for up to two years using the same neural pathways as humans. This is arrogant to believe that they do not experience such complex emotions as the cats and dogs with whom we live lovingly in our homes – or as we do.
