After years of campaigning by PETA, our international affiliates and tireless activists around the world, Canada Goose is ending fur!

PETA supporters showed up in droves at demonstrations outside Canada Goose stores and meetings and even at the home of CEO Dani Reiss. And they bombard the company’s mailboxes every day with messages demanding to stop using fur from coyotes that have been trapped and brutally killed.

Coyote masked protesters disrupt the IPO to protest the Canadian geese stock trading over their use of fur traps. The signs read Obscene Public Proposal and Trade Is Bad Business.
Actor Maggie Q and activists protest the brutal use of coyote fur by the Canadian goose.

PETA places almost constant advertisements targeting the company on billboards, buses, bus stops, bike parks, and wherever we might get our message across. We became Canada Goose shareholders to pressure the board.

Lots of celebrities have used their public platforms to push for change and urge their social media followers not to buy Canada Goose, including Pamela Anderson, Bill Maher, Morrissey, Justin Long, Maggie Q and more. Perhaps most importantly, following pressure from PETA, Canada Goose stopped hiding behind misleading statements as we showed how badly trapped coyotes suffer. After we filed a complaint with the FTC, the company stopped claiming that its standards “ensure” that suppliers do not abuse animals.
WE DID IT. Canada Goose gets rid of fur.
PETA welcomes the company’s adoption of this compassionate decision, which reflects the ethics of the
v
ast majority of people who believe that animals should not be tortured or killed because of their fur. Canada Goose will join a long and growing list of leading fur-ditching fashion brands, including Prada, Coach, Versace, Michael Kors, Balmain, Gucci, Calvin Klein, Burberry and many more.
In light of Canada Goose’s decision, PETA is imposing a moratorium on our campaign against the company while we work behind the scenes to end the use of down feathers.
